Janise Brück

Janise Brück studied Communication Science at the University of Hohenheim (Germany), LMU Munich (Germany) and the University of Leicester (England) from 2017 to 2023. She completed her master’s degree in October 2023 with a thesis on “Expertise in Crisis: The Politicization of Science in German COVID-19 Media Coverage.” During her studies she worked as a student research assistant at LMU Munich and the University of Hamburg, among others in the DFG-funded project “The Trust Relationship between Science and Digitalized Publics” (TruSDi). Since 2023, she has been a research/teaching assistant and a PhD candidate with Prof. Dr. Lars Guenther (focus: crisis and risk communication in digital media environments). She is also part of the project “Copy and Paste in (Digital) Science Communication (CoPaDiSC)", funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space. Her research focuses on (online) science communication, particularly on the relationships between diverse science communicators and their processes of selecting science information.
